THE DIFFERENCE PROJECT
Last fall we announced an exciting new project that we are going to engage with as a church. The Difference Project is composed of three parts that will help with food insecurity right here in our community. We want to be a church that exists not just IN the community, but FOR the community.
Why we are choosing to engage in fighting food insecurity:
- Food insecurity amongst children is expected to increase by more than 50 percent through December. This is one of the highest rates for child hunger in our state in decades.
- 1 in 8 people in our city are facing hunger. In 2019, it was 1 in 11.
- In 2020, food shelves are facing a 65% increase in demand.
